Learn how to make homemade pimento cheese that tastes much better than store-bought versions. This easy recipe is quick to prepare.

I am sharing my simple method for creating delicious pimento cheese right in your own kitchen. Making pimento cheese from scratch allows you to control the ingredients and avoid the additives found in mass-produced tubs.

Pantry Items

  • Pepper Jack Cheese – you can use sharp cheddar or white cheddar if you don't want the spice

  • Colby Jack Cheese - this pairs well with any cheese you choose!

  • Cream cheese – soften so it mixes well – Tip: place unopened package in warm water for 15 minutes to warm quickly.

  • Pimentos – Diced

  • Salt and Pepper – Use kosher salt (see note in recipe regarding salt)

  • Onion Powder

  • Garlic Powder

  • Seasoned Salt - totally optional but gives it a good blend of flavors

  • Celery Seed or Celery Salt - either will be great...I tend to use celery salt

  • Mayonnaise – Optional but delicious
